When I'm old and grey

Come next week, it will be the 100th day of my uncle's passing. My aunt has decided to hold a gathering to mark the occasion and as a dutiful niece, I of course will be there to lend her some support. The loss of her life partner has really been a great blow to her and even though she tries hard not to show it, it's there. She's lonely, lost and depressed. I'm sure in the back of her mind she wonders what life will be like in her later years. Who will be there for her, who will live with her. She's still lucky enough that she has five children who will most likely take her in when the time comes but the younger generation of today prefers to live their own life.

Ha, it might sound morbid but I hope that when the time comes, I'm not a burden to my children that they have to find options for senior care like a
nursing home for me.
