School schmule...

I had a number of things that I wanted to blog about today, but now when I actually sit down to blog it's all gone! LOL! Short term memory... because all the spare computing power of my brain was being used for work.

Oh yeah, it's school holidays this week in Malaysia, and I stay thank goodness for school holidays! I absolutely lurve this time because of the traffic free roads to and fro from work. *manic grin* No need to squeeze two cars on a lane meant for only one. Even coming home is almost a breeze and I get home in record time. Even like today when it rained continuously from 4pm onwards I took all the back roads I knew of in KL and there were like so few cars!

Was reminded of what I wanted to blog about by kyh's post on being kiasu in comparing test scores. SPM scores came out this week as well. I don't know what to make of this next matter, but it just sounds like prejudice to me. Every year the government announces the top student. More often than not, it happens to be a Malay. This year, the top student is a Chinese. (Think of that what you may.) Next thing you know, this article comes out that there will be NO top student this year. Eh? What gives? *puzzled look*

I am so glad I am out of school. Are you? *wink*

I miss school... I miss 20cts tuckshop lunch.. ok, 50cts.. maybe $1.. I miss all that food, more than anything else, plain simple cheap food.. the chow mein, the nasi lemak, the mai fun, the monk jump over the wall, and I miss sports days, and ... wait, I don't miss the tests, the hair checks, the oops, late for school mornings.. I miss the Interact Club, the Art Club, the Football, the school girls..... that blue uniform was such an icon.

angel: I'm glad too! *equally silly grin*

angel: Today's news in the Star says that only one student attempted 21 subjects, but didn't achieve all As... and a father and son are claiming they each scored 24 As... with a false cert! Ahahahaha.

chen: Working life not stressful meh? I like working too, but not all bits of it. I couldn't wait to finish school. *cheekily sticks out tongue*

l b: Wah! Your school canteen got monk jump over the wall one ah? How come mine only got nasi lemak or chow mein day in day out one? I miss the latest collection craze of the week... stamps, coins, erasers, ice-cream sticks, etc...

simple american: My blood boiled at first, then it came down to a simmer, and then reluctant acceptance. This is a fact of life here in Malaysia.

Oooh... do I hear a race car engine over there? Someone has a Need for Speed! *giggle*

I wonder too, does all the string of "As" holds meaning anymore.. seems like everyone is chasing after the quantity not the quality of As now

jo: I think it's always been mostly about the quantity of As... our education system places importance on that rather than the quality of As.

different stress level, but i still prefer working life (less stressful compared with sitting for the dreadful medical exam) LOL;)

chen: 0.0 Exam? That's the dreaded four letter word... LOL!

yeah... the gamen is racist!!! screw u BN! if that 16 A1s happen to be a malay, i think they'll proudly declare him/her as the top student of the yr. BAH!!!

kyh: *nods head vigorously* If Nadiah had gotten her 19 As like they were expecting her to, they would have trumpeted her as the top student this year.
